SETTLEMENT STUDIES

Individaul study of the various economies that exist in Khijadiya village.
A Ghanti ghar, screw factory, barbers shop, fabricator and a Kumbahr ghar were the main centers of economic activities in khijadiya.

The economy of the village was driven by fertile land, water sources, and a favorable climate supporting agriculture. Pottery, made from locally sourced clay, was a key craft and trade product supplied to nearby markets. Migration played a crucial role, with remittances modernizing homes and improving living standards. Domestic, work, and community spaces overlapped—courtyards and streets served as shared workspaces, reflecting a fluid, integrated approach to livelihood and daily life.
